Hey there friends and family. I hope you all enjoyed conference this weekend. It was definitely a super awesome conference. This week was a really good week and we had a really cool experience so lets get to it.
Spiritual Experience: We had a really cool spiritual experience this week. We had a cita with some people named Critian and Gabriela and we brought the young mens president Miguel with us. We went and knocked on their door and we waited and waited. Nothing happened so we called them and they didnt answer. We knocked again hard and they finally came to the door and... they told us they didnt have time. Well that was alright because we had a cita with a kid that came to church and told us he would like us to come visit him named Ismael. We took off down the road and we got to his door. We knocked and no one answered. We called him and he didnt answer even though he had answered about an hour earlier. We knocked again and... nothing. Miguel had to go so we walked with him back to the avenue to send him off in a truffi. We both thought about going back and studying but then I felt like we should go contact instead for an hour before lunch. We turned down a street and split up and took both sides off the street so we could contact more people. We got to the 3rd door and knocked and a guy opened up and asked us if we were those mormons and if we talk about Joseph Smith. We said yes and he invited us in to talk. We were a little skeptical at first but when we got inside he was super awesome. He stopped us and asked if he could go get his daughter so that she could hear as well. We taught them about the restoration and he told us that he wants his whole family to listen to what we have to say and that he loves it. It was a super awesome experience.
Funny experience: On Saturday for conference right before priesthood session all us gringos decided we wanted pizza. We started going and soon there were 5 of us gringos spriting down the Panamericana. Elder Hafen our district leader has 1 cambio left and he kept making comments about it so we all started singing "if youre trunky and you know it clap your hands" while we were still running down the street. People were looking at us like we were crazy but it was super funny.

A few fun facts from our conversation on Google Hangouts today:
Mom: Did you get many people out to conference?
Kolbe: One family. The familia Rosas.
Dad: You mentioned them before. No mention of a dad just the mom and three kids. What was her name? (the mom)
Kolbe: Yeah apparently she just got married. Her name is Marta.
Mom: Did you know she was dating him?
Kolbe: No. We had no clue.
Mom: Is he open to the missionaries and the discussions? And did he come to conference with her?
Kolbe: He did and yes he is. We are meeting with the whole family tomorrow.
Mom: That's awesome! The good news is if she decides to get baptized you won't have to worry about them not being married. Haha. Did you get to watch Conference in English and at the church or where?
Kolbe: Yes we watched it in English at the church. We had a separate TV in English for us. It was such an awesome conference! The leaders sure seem really concerned about the spiritual well being of the church!
Dad: Yes I really enjoyed it. The older I get the more I enjoy it!
Mom: Did a lot of ward members come to watch?
Kolbe: Not really. Maybe about 30 members. Which isn't that great when we have about 400 active members between our two wards. It was dia de peaton (day of pedestrian) that day so not a lot came. They can't drive that day and they didn't want to walk that far.
Dad: Well they can watch at home right?
Kolbe: Yes the ones who have internet can
Mom: Tell us more about this day of pedestrians. And how far did the Rosas have to walk?
Kolbe: It happens 3 times a year. No one can drive anywhere and you have to either walk or bike everywhere you go. It is actually really cool. I did a video I'll upload. It was really peaceful. And the Roses had to talk about 5 kilometers to come.
Dad: Is walking common around there?
Kolbe: Nooooo. Everyone rides in truffi's. By the way I just saw the picture of the fridge at home. I wish I had half that stuff.
Dad: Never thought about that part of the photo...and even more sad we thought it was empty.
Kolbe: Trust me most people in my area would kill for that. It is sad honestly how poor people are here.
Mom: What are your plans for tonight?
Kolbe: We have a NDH con la familia Aguilar tonight. The whole family are members but Luna is taking the missionary discussions since she didn't get baptized at the age of 8. She is the one we are hoping to baptize this week!
